While Roman chamomile oil is more calming, the properties of German chamomile oil makes it a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. German Chamomile has a compound in it known as "azulene." Due to the existence azulene (a nitrogenous compound) it gives the oil a deep blue color. There are several medicinal properties of chamomile oil, and the properties given below include both in the Roman and as well as in the German chamomile unless, specifically mentioned.
